And you do that every day.

For that, you deserve a proper Spanish tortilla.

One with plenty of huevos.

How Did This Happen?

Ultramarinos Pepe opened because Vancouver needed a proper Spanish neighborhood Store.

And a Spanish store without a tortilla didn't make much sense.

So, here we are.

Why Tortilla?

In Spain, Tortilla is a gesture of Love.

It's there at birthdays and celebrations. It's on the table at family lunches. It comes on hikes and beach days.

And it's what someone makes when you've had a bad day and need something to make you feel a bit better.

That's what MamaPaca's tortilla has always been.

Who Is MamaPaca?

Francisca Fernández, "MamaPaca", was born in 1935 in San Pedro Alcántara, Málaga.

She ran a restaurant called El Labrador, a place where people came together over simple, honest food and the kind of cooking that makes you feel at home.

People came for many reasons.

But mostly, they came for her tortilla.

Her grandson, Antonio Romero, still makes it exactly as she did and has brought it all the way to Vancouver.

Everything you need to know before you get your tortilla.

When can I pre-order and pick up?

Pre-orders open every Monday for the upcoming Sunday pickup.
Orders must be placed before Friday at 1:00 PM.
Pickup is every Sunday at Ultramarinos Pepe.
Orders placed after the Friday cutoff will be prepared for the following Sunday pickup.
Please pick up your tortilla during your scheduled pickup window, as we’re unable to offer refunds for orders not picked up on the scheduled pickup day.

Can I buy MamaPaca’s Tortilla in-store without pre-ordering?

A limited quantity of Pintxo/Slice and Tortilla Bocadillo may be available in-store on Sundays, while supplies last.

Please note: Whole Tortilla and Half Tortilla are available by pre-order only and will not be sold in-store on Sundays.

To guarantee your preferred format, we strongly recommend placing your pre-order before the Friday 1:00 PM cutoff.

What formats can I order?

You can pre-order Whole Tortilla, Half Tortilla, and Pintxo (a slice).

We also have a Tortilla Bocadillo made with mollete bread and mayo, available on Sundays in-store only. It is not available for online pre-order, but you can add it when you pick up, subject to availability.

What ingredients are used?

MamaPaca’s Tortilla is made with potatoes, eggs, onion, salt, and extra virgin olive oil. It contains egg. Onion is part of the original recipe and cannot be removed.

Is MamaPaca’s Tortilla available every day?

No. MamaPaca’s Tortilla is available for Sunday pickup only.

Pre-orders open every Monday and close every Friday at 1:00 PM. Orders placed after the Friday cutoff will be prepared for the following Sunday pickup.

A limited quantity of Pintxo/Slice and Tortilla Bocadillo may also be available in-store on Sundays, while supplies last.

How should I eat and store it?

Your tortilla is ready to eat when you pick it up and is traditionally enjoyed at room temperature. If you prefer it warm, reheat it for less than 1 minute in the microwave. Keep refrigerated and enjoy within 3 days of pickup.
