What Is La Paga?

In many Spanish families, Sunday means lunch together.
You eat. You talk. You stay longer than planned.
And before you leave, your grandparents give you a small amount of money.
“Para que lo pases bien.”
That weekly gesture is called la paga.
At Ultramarinos Pepe, it happens here too.

What Are Pepesetas?

Pepesetas are our store currency.
Every Sunday, when you shop with us, you receive Pepesetas based on what you spend.

For every $10 CAD, you receive 1000 Pepesetas.
1000 Pepesetas = $1 CAD.

What Were Pesetas?

Before the euro, Spain used its own currency called the peseta. In 2002, Spain adopted the euro, the shared currency now used across much of Europe. 

 

Pepesetas are our small tribute to that piece of Spanish history.

HOW MANY PEPESETAS DO I RECEIVE?

For every $10 CAD you spend on Sundays, you receive 1000 Pepesetas.

WHAT ARE PEPESETAS WORTH?

1000 Pepesetas = $1 CAD.
This means you receive about 10% back from what you spend.

WHEN ARE PEPESETAS ISSUED?

Pepesetas are issued only on Sundays, inspired by the Spanish tradition of la paga.

WHAT HAPPENED IF I SPEND $17?

Pepesetas are issued for every full $10 spent.
For example, if you spend $17, you receive 1000 Pepesetas.
Pepesetas are not rounded up.

WHEN CAN I USE MY PEPESETAS?

Pepesetas can be used any day in the store, not just Sundays.

DO PEPESETAS EXPIRE? 

No. Pepesetas do not expire, so you can use them whenever you like. 

CAN I COMBINE PEPESETAS WITH OTHER PROMOTIONS?

Yes. Pepesetas can be combined with other store promotions. 

CAN I EARN PEPESETAS WHEN I USE PEPESETAS?

No. If Pepesetas are used in a purchase, new Pepesetas will not be issued in that same transaction. 

DO PEPESETAS NEED TO BE STAMPED?

Yes. All Pepesetas must be stamped by the store to be valid.
